Theatre Club

Significance

Delhi Public School, Panipat Refinery, harnesses its dynamic academic environment through innovative theatre programs aligned with NEP 2020. The curriculum integrates Arts education to foster creative capacities, aesthetic sensibilities, and cultural literacy through experiential learning. These programs engage our students, helping them build confidence, enhance self-expression, and develop emotional intelligence through participation in diverse roles.

Activities

The interactive and performance-based classes stimulate their creativity, communication, and independent thinking. Theatre instruction focuses on voice modulation, aesthetic appreciation, spatial awareness, body language, and speech improvisation. These activities not only cater to the psychological needs of adolescents but also promote a sense of community. The Theatre-in-Education (T.I.E.) program at DPS Panipat Refinery effectively promotes 21st-century skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving. T.I.E. encourages our students to utilize imagination, emotions, and physical expression to explore various styles and genres. This comprehensive exposure hones their theatrical skills, preparing them to become proficient creators and performers, which is essential for their well-rounded personality development.

 

Science and Eco Club (VI – VIII)

Significance

Science and Eco Club is one of the activity clubs to nurture scientific skills, knowledge and fulfill the quest of students in doing science activities.

Students learn many scientific concepts by doing interesting activities using common materials. They get a chance to find answers for What, How, When and Why by various hands on activities and discussion of scientific phenomena and topics.

Eco Clubs play an important role in creating environmental awareness amongst the future generation.

Activities

The various activities undertaken are to motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees, promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water, Sensitize the students to minimize the use of plastic bags and educate children about re-use of waste material & preparation of products out of waste

They also get the chance to showcase their science projects, self-made toys and science activities on Open House days in school.

 

Science and Prakriti Club (IX - X)

Significance

Science club is mainly based on the theory of learning by doing in which students actively participate in practical and imaginative ways of learning. It is important because it boosts up critical thinking, nurtures love for science, encourages creativity and curiosity.

Activities

In science club children do various Science activities which inspire them to think outside the box and to develop innovative solutions. Children learn that there can be multiple ways to approach a problem and find solutions. Science and nature activities help children to better understand the environment they live in and to develop problem solving skills. Hands on science activities involve engaging with subject matter through practical experiments, demonstrations and investigations instead of merely observing or memorizing the information. Such activities help students to satisfy their innate desire to understand how things work. Moreover, these activities allow them to explore different scientific concepts.

 

Odissi Dance (VI – VIII)

Significance

Teaching classical dance in schools is essential for several reasons. First, it helps preserve cultural heritage, allowing students to connect with and appreciate their traditions. Second, it promotes physical health and fitness. It also provides an emotional outlet, helping students express themselves and manage stress.

Group performances and practice sessions teach students the value of cooperation, patience, and mutual respect. In summary, integrating classical dance into school curricula enriches students cultural, physical, mental, and social development, making it a valuable addition to education.

 

Surtaal Club

Significance

Music activities in schools offer a wealth of benefits, profoundly influencing students academic, social, and emotional development. Music education encourages creativity and critical thinking, providing a unique avenue for problem-solving and innovation. Socially, music programs cultivate a sense of community and teamwork. Collaborative activities, like participating in a choir or band, teach students the importance of cooperation and collective effort.

Kalakriti Club

Significance

Kalakriti club develops a perspective of artistic and creative expression through experimentation with different tools, techniques and medium in two or three dimensional visual art form.

Activities

We focus on materials and projects and to expose the students to the cultural diversity of the country through folk art form, local specific art objects and other art pieces leading to an awareness and appreciation of National Heritage. We are able to experiment with various art materials in a personalized, open and extraordinary manner and help students to develop sense of unity and team work, learning how to work with each other.

 

Sculpture and Pottery Club

Significance

Teaching sculpture and pottery in schools is vital for students overall development. These art forms stimulate creativity and allow unique self-expression. They improve fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness, contributing to both physical and mental growth. The hands-on nature of these activities promotes patience and perseverance, offering a constructive way to express and cope with emotions.

Heritage Club (VI – VIII)

Significance

Heritage club, makes students aware and be proud of the richness of the natural and cultural heritage of their state and country, to sensitise the community towards our heritage. It motivates the students to participate in Heritage conservation and to learn more about their local and natural heritage. The heritage club programmes are designed so as to involve students in various activities, geared towards heritage awareness and education for learning a craft. The heritage club projects endeavour to create awareness of local cultures and heritage among people by using the force of children. It is expected to bring out a change in the attitude of elders by sensitising children.

Activities

Activities of heritage club include conserving heritage monuments, creating awareness of prevalent endangered species and popularising traditional practices in various fields, it is a laboratory to explore the linkages between different subjects and to create a platform for interdisciplinary approach activities to education. Various activities like Indian artist palette, bookmarks describing historical monuments, Indian Floor Arts, plaque cards making , food fiesta-cookbooks etc will be done throughout the year

 

German Club (VI – VIII)

Significance

German is a relatively easy language to learn as both English and German belong to the same language family. In addition, German has many similarities to English, making it a valuable second language for children who already know the basics of the language. Furthermore, German is a rich and complex language with a long and rich literary tradition. This means that children get many opportunities to engage in diverse cultural experiences while learning German.

Activities

In German Club, children learn new words and expressions and new ways of pronunciation. There may be some pronunciation challenges, the grammar is mostly straightforward. It has a large variety of words, grammar rules, and pronunciations that make it an interesting and versatile language to learn.

 

Bizcom Club (IX-X)

Significance

In todays complex economic landscape, understanding banking fundamentals equips individuals with the skills to manage personal finances, make informed investment decisions, and navigate the credit system effectively. Concurrently, marketing education plays a vital role in the business realm. The collaboration of these two fields in the BIZCOM club encourages teamwork, leadership, and networking, providing students with valuable opportunities to apply theoretical concepts in real-world scenarios.

this club often connect students with multiple activities like Role-Playing SimulationsVirtual Bank Visitsset up different types of bank accounts, including checking, savings, and online accounts (features and benefits of each), all about cheques, debit and credit card, applying for loans, using ATMs etc. and marketing Ps, Collaborative Projects with Other Clubs to apply Ps, Advertising Design Challenges and many more. All these activities help students to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices. This exposure allows students stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in banking and marketing, making them more adaptable and innovative.

 

Techno Club (IX-X)

Techno club is an amazing opportunity for students to explore their creativity and learn valuable skills. The techno club plays a crucial role in equipping students with essential knowledge in designing, movie making, and programming, which are increasingly important in todays digital world. By providing a platform for students to delve into these areas, the club not only fosters innovation and critical thinking but also prepares them for future careers in technology-related fields.

In the Techno Club, the students get to dive into exciting activities like poster designing, web designing, and programming. Ramanujan Club (IX-X)

Significance

Cricket Club 

Significance

Cricket has been an established team sport for hundreds of years and is one of the most popular sports in the world. It originated in England and is now very popular in countries such as India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, the West Indies and South Africa. Competitive cricket is essentially a bat and ball sport.

Health benefits include:

Activities

Although there is some standing around, to play cricket you need to be fit and strong, and have good hand-eye coordination and ball-handling skills. Cricket involves sprinting between wickets and running to stop balls, as well as bowling and throwing.

 

Badminton Club 

Significance

Badminton is an excellent choice for a Socially Useful Productive Work (SUPW) activity in schools :

As it promotes physical fitness and wellness among students. Playing badminton regularly improves cardiovascular health, muscle strength, agility, and overall endurance.
