World Environment Day Celebration

As part of Indian Oil’s observance of World Environment Day 2025 (5th June), Mr. A. S. Sahney, Chairman, Indian Oil, interacted with children across the country through a special hybrid event held in collaboration with NDTV News Channel on 2nd June 2025. The event, themed GreenKonnect – Young Voices for a Greener Tomorrow, aimed to inspire and engage young minds in the cause of environmental stewardship. Over 1,500 students from 60 schools across 25 locations in India participated in this unique initiative, which offered them a valuable opportunity to interact directly with the Chairman and share their thoughts and questions on environmental issues.

From Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex, 70 enthusiastic students from Delhi Public School, Panipat Refinery Township took part in the interaction. Present on the occasion were Mr. M. L. Dahriya, ED & RH, PRPC; Mr. Om Prakash, CGM (HR), PRPC; Mr. Surendar Pal Sachdeva, Principal, DPS Panipat Refinery Township; Mr. Sanjay Kumar, GM (EMS) and Mr. Vivek Sharma, SM (CC & CSR). The session proved to be highly enriching, as students were introduced to various environmental conservation initiatives undertaken by Indian Oil. Their queries and concerns were addressed thoughtfully by the Hon’ble Chairman, leaving the young participants both informed and inspired.
